So after many weeks of anticipation I FINALLY met up with my mom and sister in our homeland, Ireland! These two beauties met me in Galway City and after solo traveling for the longest, it was great to be reunited with familiar faces!

We spent a couple of days exploring Galway city..walking the quaint streets, eating fresh seafood and drinking Guiness. Mom had rented a car and from there we set out on an EPIC two week roadtrip of the motherland.
Our first stop was the Cliffs of Moher, a natural wonder of the world. These stunning cliffs are located along the coast in County Clare and it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Ireland. Although it was swarming with people, it was 100% worth the visit!
There were signs posted everywhere about the dangers of climbing over the fence, but let's be honest; the O'Connor sisters don't really like to listen to the rules. (We had to get a stranger to take this pic because Maura would have had a heart attack)
That night we stopped in Doolin, the most adorable little village which is famous for its live music in pubs. We grabbed dinner down the street from our B&B then came back to watch the band play. It was such great atmosphere and we had so much fun!

Next we were off to the Dingle Peninsula! This is where my grandmother and grandfather are from. Both of my Uncles were born here and we still have many cousins in the area. It was so cool to see where our grandparents grew up and to meet some of our long lost cousins!
Dingle is a fishing village located right on the water. The downtown area has beautifully colored buildings surrounded my rolling green hills. It is such a charming little town and I can't imagine why my grandparents ever left!
One of Dingle's claims to fame is Fungi the Dingle Dolphin. This little guy is the only dolphin that lives in the Dingle Bay, and has for 40 years. On our tour, we learned that other pods will come in but never stay for long. Fungi even had a girlfriend a while back but he drove her away too.

After four wonderful nights in Dingle we continued on our roadtrip, this time heading to the famous Blarney Castle. This beautiful stone castle is known for its magical stone which gives you "the gift of eloquence"
I really have no idea what this tiny old man would have done if I fell but luckily I didn't have to find out. After climbing up and kissing the Blarney stone we spent a couple of hours exploring the grounds which are full of breathtaking gardens. As is typical in Ireland, it was a rainy day but that didn't stop us from making the most of it!
We made a few more stops along the way before finally ending up in Dublin, the capital city. Our cousin Nina lives here and she graciously let us stay at her house (God bless her). We had SUCH a blast getting to know her and all of our other cousins!
As they say, all good things must come to an end. It was ALOT of togetherness and there were times when I wasn't sure we would all make it out alive...but we did it! And now we have amazing memories that will last a lifetime..So thanks mom and zz, for a roadtrip that I will never forget (you wouldn't!)<3 <3
